The industry standard in affordable aerial target for surface-to-air and air-to-air weapon systems. Since its inception almost 30 years ago, the Banshee UAV-T and its various weapon-specific augmentation devices have evolved with the requirements of many customers.
The Banshee UAV-T is in service over land and sea as a target for a variety of gun and missile air target systems. Capable of semi-autonomous operation to distances of up to 100 km, it can be readily configured to suit mission requirements through a variety of proven augmentation media. The Banshee UAV-T is available in three engine configurations: the traditional Whirlwind engine driving a pusher propeller or models with one or two 45kg thrust engines which offers customers the ability to reach speed of 390 knots (200m/s).
All Banshee UAV-Ts are fitted with QinetiQ’s Command and Surveillance Payload Avionics (CASPA), a command and control system featuring digital, three-axis autopilot, telemetry and GPS functions, plus other navigational features. Operator control is carried out through our Wizard or Merlin ground control stations.
The Rattler Ground / Air Launched – Supersonic Target (GAL-ST) (Rattler) is a low-cost target designed to replicate anti-radiation missiles and supersonic high-diver threats in an innovative and cost-effective manner.
The Rattler can be air launched by the Banshee Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) and operated simultaneously by our Universal Target Control Station (UTCS). By being air launched from the Banshee UAV, the Rattler provides an increased profile range over comparable threat representative targets and offers the capability to present multiple targets after separation.
The Rattler provides a threat-representative profile with its supersonic capability, mission flexibility with the ability to be air launched from a Banshee UAV, maneuverability at supersonic speeds and increases training availability due to its low-cost design.
The Snipe UAV-T provides a simple and affordable threat simulation for air target weapon system training on land and at sea. Although designed as a short, within–visual-range target utilising manual control, the Snipe UAV-T can be fitted with the latest derivative of the CASPA avionics system to provide a beyond-visual-range capability.
The Snipe’s low cost and its ability to carry infrared and visual augmentation, make it ideally suited as a direct kill target for use against gun and short-range missile anti-aircraft weapons and is ideally suited to replicate the threat posed by small-medium sized UAV’s which are widely used by terrorist and insurgent organisations around the world.
The Snyper Mk II Unmanned Helicopter Vehicle – Target (UHV-T) is a proven Micro-UAV threat replication system. It is intended for training of Military Operations in Urban Terrain (MOUT), Force Protection (FP) of vital physical and/or human assets and can be operated in a variety of frequencies to test the electronic attack capability of modern warfare systems.
